We Are Back! :)

Well, I finally decided to just suck it up and face the music and admit defeat and just bow down to the fact that I lost data and there is no resolution that would be quick.

So I have brought back the site - but sadly it seems that we lost most of the data from 2077 and 2008, including members!

So if you used to be a member, and find your membership doesn't exist - it is not that you were deleted or removed intentionally, but just one tof the gremlins zapped you. :(

Anyway, PLEASE feel free to join again, and post your work and sales up so everyone can see it! We've missed everyone and will gleefully pounce and huggle you to pieces upon your return! hehe!!

2006 Artists Choice Awards on eBay

Introducing The 2006 Artists’ Choice Awards on eBay!

Greetings wonderful artists of eBay! The time has arrived when we can begin looking ahead to the nomination process and voting for exceptional artists of 2006! It was a busy spring and fast summer as the upcoming awards were being knit together behind the scenes. Many ideas and improvements were ironed out and we are ready to roll!

Mission/Vision for the Artist's Choice Awards

As an annual collaboration open to the entire active eBay art community, the ACA exists to acknowledge and promote exceptional artists based solely on the artistic merits of their work as determined by their eBay art peers.

The steering committee overseeing this process was charged with the following duties:
> To create a category structure which is inclusive of the majority of artists in this venue;
> To establish and enforce parameters of qualification;
> To identify marketing opportunities, on eBay and in the outside art community; which will promote and benefit both the Artists' Choice Awards and the individual artists receiving the awards;
> To effectively communicate the above to the eBay art community in a timely fashion.

Schedule* ~

October 15th to November 1st: Nominations
November 2nd to 14th: Nomination Counting & Runoffs
November 15th to 30th: Voting
December 1st to December 14th: Vote Counting (& Runoffs)
December 15th through the 25th: Announcement
January 2007: New Awards Site Roll Out
*(dates are subject to change based on technical issues, unforeseen problems, leadership’s discretion, and number of nominations/votes to be counted)

Qualifications ~

To participate, (nominate, be nominated, and vote), you must:

1)be a self-representing eBay artist with at least 10 art-sales feedbacks in the past 9 months (from the date nominations BEGIN),
2)be in good standing with eBay,
3)if you have more than one ID from which you sell art, please choose ONE and use it exclusively for ACA. The other ID will not be counted and may be removed.
NOTE: art to be considered for the ACA2006 is art offered/sold in 2006.

If it is not clear from your eBay feedback that you meet the criteria, please tell us why you do meet criteria. If it is clear that you do not meet the criteria , your ID will be removed on the date nominations begin. While we celebrate with you that you sell successfully on other venues, those sales cannot be counted into the criteria for qualifying to participate in ACA2006. Thank-you.
Note: the artist(s) you nominate do not have to be members of any eBay art groups, including ACA2006, but must meet the qualifications set forth above. It would be considerate, however, if you nominate someone not a member of the ACA group, to contact them and let them know and encourage them to join.

Interviews are back!

OKay well it took me a LOT longer to come back from my computer failure than I thought.

I was unable to recover the interviews or emails I'd sent to folks and lost all emails I'd stored, and have no idea where I was, so I'll have to start the whole process on my end from scratch. If I ask you again if you'll do an interview, please understand why - it's not that you weren't memorable - it's just that my memory sucks big time and I lost every record I had.

So second week of August (or is it the third? Ack!) I am getting the interviews started back up again.

Since it's far too late into the month to give the artists a fair run of being a Site of the Month, I am starting September Interviews early. I hope folks will understand.

No Interviews for June!

I just wanted to let folks know that due to my having some computer issues, that I will be unable to run June's Interviews.

So the interviews I would be doing for June will need to be run in July. The ones I'd scheduled after those will also be pushed back a month.

If I can get my computer behaving within the next few days... I'll still make a go at featuring them this month.

But chances are it's going to be down for a bit more. So I will likely use June as a mid-year recap of the artists we featured this year already.

I'm so sorry everyone! :(

Font Size Tip!

I've had a little feedback about FeyRealm's font - that some folks are finding the font a little small to read or see!

Never fear - I have a GREAT solution for you that you can even take away WITH you for most other sites that you may run into this problem with!

You can in fact change the size of font for most sites to suit YOUR eyes! Unless the site is coded against it (which I think is such a shame!) or the text is actually a part of an image - this technique can help you see and read a site that might be using a font or font size that is too small for you to see clearly!

Just make sure you click in the main background area of the site, and then hold down the Ctrl key and then use your scroll wheel on your mouse to scroll up and down! This will reduce and enlarge the text until you decide it's where you want it to be in order to read it clearly and easily! Give it a go and see how you like it!

I'm not yet sure how we can get the same result for MAC users, as I don't think MACs *have* a Ctrl key or if they even make a mouse with a scroll wheel for MAC computers. If someone knows how to do the same on a MAC - please do let me know!

New Top 100 List!

Due to several compliants and a general "clunky" feel, we have switched Top Lists!

It is now MUCH easier to understand and join and get the code so that YOUR site gets the ranking it needs and deserves!!!

So if you were a member of the OLD top list - please join the NEW one and replace the code on your site with the new code so that your site gets points for every person you send OUR way. A higher ranking means MORE traffic and visiblity for YOUR site and visitors to the top list will be that much more likely to visit YOUR site from the Topp 100 List page.

If you weren't a member - don't worry, you can join the NEW list - and it is SO easy to add YOUR banner and get the code so that YOUR site gets ranked!

As FeyRealm's traffic increases, so too will the traffic and flow of visitors to your site, so join now and be seen! It's 100% free and it's a win-win situation!
Click HERE to join now or visit FeyRealm's new Top 100 List!:happy:
